Rev.
Maurice A. Mimms, Sr.
was born in Wurzburg, Germany in 1966. His family came to the
United States in the early 1970's and settled in Mt. Holly, New Jersey.
It was as a young child that he accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his
personal Savior at the Lighthouse Tabernacle Church in Lumberton, NJ.
In 1984 he received his diploma from
Rancocas Valley Regional High School, and at the age of 18 began his
military career that has now spanned 21 years. Today he holds the
rank of Sergeant Major in the U. S. Army Reserves, and is completing his
Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration at Thomas Edison
State College in Trenton, New Jersey.
In 1993, Rev. Mimms moved to
Willingboro, NJ and joined the Cathedral of Love Church. There, he
served as the Young Men's ministry leader. It was at this church
that he received the Call to the ministry as a clergyman, and he became
certified as an Aspirant Minister.
In 1996, Rev. Mimms joined the
Tabernacle of Deliverance Family Outreach Ministries, under the
Interdenominational Fellowships of Trenton, NJ where he was licensed and
ordained to the Full Gospel Ministry as an Elder. There, he held
the position of an Assistant Pastor.
In 2002, The Lord led Rev. Mimms and
his family to join the Alpha Baptist Church, where he now serves as an
Associate Minister. Rev. Mimms, husband of Pamela R. Mimms
and the father of five beautiful children, says, “I count it a blessing,
a privilege, and an honor to serve the Lord's people."
