Pastor Danny Eugene Scotton, Sr. is the Senior Pastor of the Alpha Baptist Church in Willingboro, New Jersey. Pastor Scotton is a servant leader who has brought a do as I do approach to the ministry of Alpha Baptist. He is a native of High Point, North Carolina, where he was born the eighth of eleven children to Lovell and Tommie Pearl Scotton. He relocated with his family to the Northeast (NJ and PA) at the age of five. After a successful academic and athletic career at Bensalem High School in Bensalem, PA, Pastor Scotton received a full athletic scholarship in wrestling from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL.

At Northwestern, he began to pursue a lifelong dream of becoming an electrical engineer. He graduated in 1982 with a BS degree in Electrical Engineering and was awarded the degree of MS in Electrical Engineering from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, NJ, in 1986. Rev. Scotton worked as an Electrical Engineer for over twenty years serving in numerous positions from Design Engineer to Sr. Program Director. While working as an engineer, Rev. Scotton began to wrestle with a call to ministry.

Pastor Scotton began his formal theological education at Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary (now Palmer Seminary) where he received his Master’s of Divinity Degree (M.Div) in May of 2000. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry (D. Min) degree in Leadership of Missional Church Renewal at Palmer Seminary. On September 29, 2002, Pastor Scotton was installed as the pastor of the Alpha Baptist Church. He was blessed to become the full-time pastor at Alpha in January 2004. God’s anointing on his pastorate has been evidenced by the tremendous numerical and spiritual growth of Alpha Baptist Church. He says that his greatest accomplishment at Alpha is that he has had the privilege of baptizing over 700 new believers in the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.   Pastor Scotton loves the Lord and truly loves the Lord’s people.
